Singapore airport transport guide

How do you get from Changi Airport to the city?

There are five ways: taxi, Grab, MRT, bus or a booked private car. This guide shows what each one costs, how long it takes and who it suits. Sometimes the cheapest airport transport is not ours.

When a taxi costs less

A taxi is the cheaper choice for one or two people

Our cheapest car is SGD 70. A taxi to the city is S$25 to S$45 on the meter, plus the S$6 or S$8 airport surcharge. So a taxi costs less when:

The MRT and the bus cost even less, if you have one bag and time to spare. At night the gap closes: from midnight to 5:59 am a taxi adds 50% to the metered fare.

When a booked car is worth it

A booked car is worth it when the trip is harder

Your chauffeur holds a board with your name inside arrivals. You get 60 minutes of free waiting, and the pickup follows your real landing time. The whole car is SGD 70 to 95, agreed when you book. See every car and fare.

Arriving late

Trains and buses stop for the night. Your car is booked and waiting. A night fee may apply from 11 pm to 7 am; if it does, we show the amount before you pay.

Family with cases

One car for everyone. The MPV seats 4 with 4 cases from SGD 70. The chauffeur carries the bags, and child seats are free on request.

Groups

Seven seats and seven cases in one Toyota Hiace for SGD 75, so nobody splits across two taxis.

Where to board

Where to board at each Changi terminal

Taxi stands are in the arrival areas of T1, T2, T3 and T4. Ride-hailing cars use the arrival pick-up points below.

T2

Level 1, Doors 2 to 7

T3

Basement 1, Doors 1 to 5

Taxi stand in arrivals

T4

Level 1, Doors 1 to 8

Changi does not let drivers park or wait at the pick-up points. Your chauffeur meets you inside arrivals instead, then takes you to the car. Read about pickup at your terminal and meet and greet.

How long does it take?

About 30 minutes by taxi or Grab. Rush hour can make it longer.
